Welcome...
to the Sandema project, a charity that helps people in rural Africa to help themselves. We work in the most economically depressed, socially deprived area of Ghana where land
is becoming semi-desert, malnutrition is widespread and formal education an unimaginable luxury for most children. The area is rural, 90% of people being farmers. Massive
emigration to the cities has damaged the economy. Illiteracy is widespread, books virtually non-existent. Less than half the children attend schools most of which are
under-resourced and dilapidated. Almost half the classes have no teachers.
We believe that education is the most vital of all resources. Being a small charity run by volunteers, we have very low adminstrative costs; so almost all the money raised goes
straight into financing the Sandema Education Resource Centre.
Please keep the project alive. There are thousands of people depending on your generosity. We cordially invite you to look at our website and see for yourself the work that we do.
Please consider making a one off donation towards our work or becoming a regular supporter on a monthly basis by clicking onto the donation button.
